Oaktowns’ Pimp Hand is Stronger than the Hughes Bros.
The city of Oakland California appears to be unwilling to have their reputation sullied any further by Pimp-ism. the latest in the long saga of pimp salvos comes from the filmakers - The Hughes Brothers. the Brothers received a firm Pimp Hand No on this latest project from the city fathers;
It Appears that the Oaktown Posse’ wants their Props not just a Hoe Stroll.
the Hughes Bros. latest project is entitled “Gentlemen of Leisure“. The Film is reputed to be about a legendary Tenderloin Pimp.
Oakland has recently seen violence, due to the murder of one of it’s citizens; by the Bay Area Rapid Transit Cops on New Years Day.
The Rally and demonstrations held on thursday 01/08/09 - regarding the murder; turned ugly. Leading to police being dispatched to break up the rally. The police stood behind bullet proof shields, as windows on businesses were smashed; and the crowd turned their anger on law enforcement, in-place of the BART Cops.
It’s our opinion that Oakland May Be Right, in face of the negatives they’ll receive regarding this project. Really, the Hughes Brothers can film the project anywhere; because it’s scenery isn’t the main attraction - it’s the storyline.
