Rihanna is the new Face of Domestic Violence

When we see her in videos she seems so empowered.

Yet when we see her as a victim, we realize she is one of the rest of us.

Yes Rihanna is a victim of Domestic Abuse; at the hands of Chris Brown; who has been charged with Domestic Abuse.

presently the Police in Los Angeles are investigating the assault; for the DA’s Office who intends to charge Chris Brown with Domestic Assault and possibly Attempted Murder.

Why do we have to see these two young pop stars splashed in the headlines; and paraded across the tabloids like cheap criminals ?  after all, didn’t they have the sense enough to just stop before it becomes physical ?  There is no way they couldn’t have seen this coming, as popular as they are.

Sadly Chris Brown has already begun to loose endorsement contracts; and have his upcoming appearances cancelled because of the bad press. Rihanna has likewise cancelled appearances in Asia; because of the Assault.

Today Is Black Love Day, and we didn’t plan to spend it like this - but since we’re here we just want to again remind everyone that if you are in a dangerous situation.

Just STOP.

Leave However You Can; nothing is worth you looking Like Rihanna.. or Loosing Your Life Like Many Others Have.

Domestic Abuse is Dangerous and There is Help Availble; if you or someone you know is a victim of Domestic Abuse - please seek help. dial 911; or The National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE (7233) or TTY 1-800-787-3224.

Like This guy says - Domestic Violence is Never Cool - Keep it Movin,

a few words of wisdom for Barack; from FELA

Fela was My Hero. Personally each time we talked, it was like spending time with someone who had the universe in his head.  Fela understood things. Things that other people seemed to only wonder, how to begin deconstructing as a theory.

When Fela was running for President of Nigeria ; the government denied him the chance because they knew overwhelmingly he would win, both the popular and elected vote. Fela never cut corners with the power struggle. he came with his lesson in hand.

tomorrow I’ll post a pic of us, and talk about the final time I spent with Fela, a year before he passed away.  it was almost a religious experience. he was in touch with the universe truly.

why are we talking about Fela Today, Well He Was the MLK of Nigeria - He Fought for Justice For His People. The Government Beat Him, Jailed Him and Tried to Kill Him. the same things that they did to Dr. Martin Luther King.

Make Sure You check Out “Our Remember The Dream” Blog Carnival On Thursday; 1/15/09 in Honor of Dr. Martin Luther King’s Dream
