Just take a look around you. Have the taxes on Cigarettes and Cigars increased; how about the tax on Alcohol ? not in this state just yet.  these so called sin taxes when imposed helped to do a few things.

• raise revenue
• raise awareness
• cause changes in social patterns

the bottom line is this, if America wants to follow the real line of green commerce, it’s going to have to relax rules on certain crops and gain an advantage by doing it. simply because Americans will revolt if they can’t get their beer and smokes, plainly put.

Americans will also revolt if the government doesn’t come up with a less cash intensive way to create a boatload of cash, within the next year.  theres’ no other way to look at it. we have to use the green to get the green. Hemp can be started today by the large tobacco growers, and as well the corrections farm systems.

that initial crop would help to start the re-greening of americas’ industry and economy.

Hemp was the original crop that produced the wealth of the young America. so much so, the British commonwealth demanded a supply be sent monthly as a tax payment.  the crop grows wild, and requires no management by chemicals or soil enrichment. it will grow in the desert as well as the swamp.

We as Rastafarian’s support the legalization of Marijuana for Spiritual and Medicinal uses. we do not support the legalization of Drugs of any form.  Cocaine and Heroin are Drugs because they are Processed to become Usable as Drugs. Marijuana grows from the soil, drys and does not require processing to make it usable. as such it IS NOT A DRUG.

the breed is known to be a favorite amongst many the Obama’s looked at. Senator Ted Kennedy owns several and we read at Politicus.us that he lobbied hard for the breed to be the Obama Girls new BFF (best furry friend).

we’re wondering if they’ll be getting him from a shelter, or a breeder, or maybe even a gift from Senator Kennedy. either-way, this is a great dog for the Obama Girls. I just love how loyal the breed is. they’re smart, good with kids and they are relatively hypoallergenic apparently, since one of the Obama Girls has an allergy, that had to be taken into account; during the selection process.

today I wondered if they’d be having the secret service scan the dog, or implant a microchip into their BFF - to keep him safe and easily recognizable. you can never be too careful when it comes to your kids furry friends. you know those pesky portuguese just might be looking to steal our white house secrets - and they may not be above sending in a deep cover operative, to sniff them out so to say. lol.

All kidding aside, we’re happy with the choice for new first dog, because they’re perfect.

as a woman I see no real fashion need for a man to carry a Purse. call it what you want; a Man Bag, a Travel Bag, a Sidekick; whatever - it’s a Damn Murse.. and you know it.

Most women carry lipstick, hand lotion, hand cleaner, kleenex or a hankie (if you are a lady like Myself  and my friends Margie and Edna - Hey Girls !); probably your wallet with your money  and your identification. some of who use them carry combs or brushes; and the occassional cellphone or blackberry; along with your keys of course.  oh did I forget about those womencentials like the minipad case or the tampons.. whoops can’t leave those out now can we gals. Change, you must have change.. gum or mints, a pen and paper..

how did the shrub’s folks feel when he was compared by the same website to a monkey?  probably not too happy either..

it’s a matter of class, personal taste and preference from what I see.

some folks feel like it’s a national insult, to publicly draw comparisons between a monkey and the president. it is, in my opinion.  Even when Bush was president, I compared him to a bush or a shrub; occassionally some discarded fecal matter; but never a living animal.  I have much more respect for animals than to do that. besides jackals don’t need any advertising. they are doing quite fine on wallstreet and in DC from what I see on the news each evening.

still I wonder why it appears more vociferous when it’s the monkey being shot by two white cops ? could that added element of seeing the white man with a gun be the real trigger for this anguish ?

Why do we have to see these two young pop stars splashed in the headlines; and paraded across the tabloids like cheap criminals ?  after all, didn’t they have the sense enough to just stop before it becomes physical ?  There is no way they couldn’t have seen this coming, as popular as they are.

Sadly Chris Brown has already begun to loose endorsement contracts; and have his upcoming appearances cancelled because of the bad press. Rihanna has likewise cancelled appearances in Asia; because of the Assault.

Today Is Black Love Day, and we didn’t plan to spend it like this - but since we’re here we just want to again remind everyone that if you are in a dangerous situation.

This young man, Adolph Chris Grimes III was a law abiding citizen of Texas. Chris had never been in trouble. he had just driven in to visit his family for New Years; and within One Hour of arriving - he’s murdered;  by who - The New Orleans Police.

The sheer craziness of this shooting, takes us back to Oscar Grant in Oakland California.

why are these police officers using such extreme force on people who are not threatening to them ?

in this case, the PCR Says Nine Different Nola Officers pumped more than twelve shots into him - with nine of the twelve hitting him in the BACK.

they shot an unarmed man, inside a car - 12 times. why ?

Their Answer, He was parked in a black car FOUR Blocks from where a disturbance involving a black car was reported. oooh gee now it’s sitting in your car while it and you are black. YIKES !

the nine Nola Undercover Officers who were not in Uniform, and Brandishing Weapons; never approached him to say a word; they just opened fire on his car. Instantly killing him sitting behing the wheel, UNARMED and probably Terrified.

The Houston Zoo has a Brand New Baby Masai Giraffe.

He was born on January 30, 2009. he doesn’t have a name as of yet; but he’s so cute no doubt he will in no time at all.

Here’s a few Tidbits about The Giraffe, which btw is our favorite animal

Giraffes’ are the tallest land animal in the world. a giraffe can grow to be upwards of  20 feet tall and weigh up-to 3000 pounds.

In Africa, Masai Giraffes live in herds in the Kenyan grasslands and eat tree leaves and green plants. Giraffes are alot like camels, They can go for days without water. Giraffes can run up to 25 mph for short distances; and are fierce defenders when they sense danger to their calves or herd.

The new baby giraffe at the Houston Zoo is a Male. He weighed in at 110 pounds at birth and is five feet nine an a half inches tall. his care plan is already in play. The zoo keepers will be handraising him; feeding him by bottle with a mixture of colostrum and goats milk. then after his initial growth spurt; they plan to switch him to 100% goats milk; as his mom can’t produce enough milk to feed him. at 110 lbs you know he’s a hungry baby boy.

first off these are babies, so why put money on them ?

second lets talk about a few things about that money -

If you pay attention to tellers in the bank or cashiers, you will see hand sanitizer, or alcohol. this is to protect them from the germs. ask a bank teller or cashier and they can tell you how dirty their hands are after just an hour handling money.. and we know adults CAN Wash Theirs Hands; Babies Can’t.

The Way these men are behaving, you’d think someone had actually done something really bad. instead this is a spate of violence directed toward women..

No doubt you will be as shocked as I was when I first watched this video, but let me make it clear to you, this is happening alot more frequently these days. why - I’m really not sure. But after seeing this, it makes me feel that Women need special provisions under International Law for protection from attacks such as this.

these women weren’t doing anything. they were sitting in the bar, at a table, with other women. they were indeed wearing western clothes. they weren’t indecently dressed, exposing parts of their bodies or behaving in any manner that would be insulting to womanhood, or for that matter - manhood.

This particular group is a Hindu extremist group, known by the name Shri Ram Sena. they are the hindi equalivilent of the Taliban.

I wonder if these men will be punished for this violence ? I’m going to scour the indian news sites and see what I can find on this, as a follow-up. I really wonder if there is something that women in India can do to protest this, bearing in mind the majority of the political structure and faith structure is Male Centered.
